White is averaging more than 300 yards per game but hasn’t thrown a TD in 2 straight contests. I’m assuming he’ll rest up and be fine next week. White took some vicious hits from the Bills this week, but made it through the game. He has invigorated the passing game for the Jets, including rescuing Elijah Moore from the fantasy graveyard (more on him later). (3) Purdy has yet to take a snap on the road, and Seattle is among the loudest and most hostile buildings in the NFL. (2) The 49ers will almost certainly be down an important weapon (Deebo) this week. As of now his availability for Week 15 doesn't appear to be in question but that could change. Three notes of caution for this week: (1) Purdy is undergoing an MRI on an injured oblique, and the 49ers play Thursday night. Purdy has looked very poised and competent in 2 games and is certainly worth an add and especially in Superflex leagues. This isn’t “one size fits all.”īrock Purdy made a huge splash in his first start, throwing for 2 scores, running for another (all before halftime) and putting up almost 22 fantasy points. But what does that even mean? A 10 team league with 6 bench spots will have a much larger free agent pool than a 14 team league with 8 bench spots. As a general rule, I list players who are available in more than 50% of leagues. Some of the players I’ll talk about won’t be available in your league. Note that this advice is primarily intended for Season-Long leagues, and NOT Dynasty leagues. I also try to identify streamers who might help you in a pinch. I also do my best to identify which players who are coming off a big week are fool’s gold. The Process: Each week, I try to identify the top Waiver Wire targets and evaluate the short and long term prospects of those players. NYJ (DET, JAC, GB (LAR, MIN) SF (SEA, WAS, KC SEA, DEN) Blending it all together, and looking at the totality of the matchups, here are some teams that have particularly strong or weak schedules for the 3 weeks of the fantasy playoffs. Some are strong against the run but weak against the pass, and vice versa. Not many defenses are just plain old bad matchups across the board, like the 49ers and to a lesser extent the Bills and Cowboys. It’s worth keeping this in the back of your mind as you think about waiver claims. The Waiver Wire has some decent options, so let’s get to it.īefore we get to the pickups for this week, let’s take a quick look at some of the teams with the best and worst schedules for the fantasy playoffs. The good news is that the byes are over and we’ve got all 32 NFL teams in action this week. Week 14 was a rough one, with 6 teams on bye and a number of players already out or getting hurt (and the Monday night game started with a big injury as Kyler Murray appears to have torn his ACL and is likely done for the year). If your season ended in Week 14, I’m sorry, but I hope you’ll keep reading anyway. For many of you, the fantasy football playoffs start now. *Follow The Pigskin Papers on Social Media on Instagram and Twitter ***
