![]() ![]() Image Data Converter offers all the basic raw conversion parameters including white balance, tone curve and color as well as a D-Range optimizer. There are no browsing, tagging or catalogue functions. It provides for the fine-tuning of brightness, color, white balance, sharpness, noise reduction and tone-curve and also lets you choose your preferred Creative Style, reduce the effects of vignetting and change the in-camera setting of the D-Range Optimizer. Available for Windows and Mac, the application is relatively simple compared to most third party packages but nevertheless offers all the usual conversion parameters and is easy to use. LR has a better way to manage my photos and editing for me is easier, too.The Sony SLT-A57 comes with the Image Data Converter SR 4.0 raw processing software. ![]() PL6 has superior NR, better sharpness and colors. I do export NR and Lens correction only to DNG and then continue editing in LR. Lightroom is noat a bad raw converter, but for me, DxO PL6 returns the best results if there are lens profiles availiable for me (unfortunately, there are not for Sigma C and Voigtländer lenses). Unfortunately, seems that times, when I bought Sony version for 90EUR are over.If have to purchase today, I would look somewhere else for my amateur usage. $299 seems a little too darn high for me hopefully there will be a holiday discount soon.Ĭapture One is on 30% discount several times per year, you need just wait a little bit. From what I hear Capture 1 comes out with sales around this time and I want to buy it. I just have no idea how the Sony files behave with different software that’s why I ask. ![]() I also shoot with Fuji and from what a lot of people say is the same thing, for color, sharpness and detail Lightroom is not bad, but C1 is simply better. I suggest the same as I did - try few serious contenders by yourself and choose the best one for you.Īround three or four years ago I did try a few. BUT there are so many variables (personal preference and bias, captured scenes, editing experience etc), that value of this statement is very close to 0. I tried several RAW editors for my Sony A6400, I like the output from Capture One the most. I can’t say is no good for everything because I have only messed around with a handful of things. Where enhance detail does work is for specific things, objects or materials such as sand. Yes I have indeed used enhanced detail, but man when you have a lot of photos to process is ridiculous and unrealistic to use that function for each photo the process is just too darn slow.Īnd, per my personal experience, enhance detail does not work on everything. Have you tried the Enhance Detail option in Lightroom? I believe that is supposed to help X-Trans. Sony color complaints seem to be Adobe color complaints to me. That data comes with E-mount lenses and is embedded in ARW files. For example the constant complaints about there being no profile for new lenses such as the 24-70 GM II. It sounds like Adobe doesn't fully support Sony ARW files. Though I would like extended dynamic range editing and output added. So I don't want to make it sound like it is only a Fujifilm "Xtrans" sensor issue bla bla bla.ĭo you guys also (prefer) a specific RAW converter that you do notice that makes your images look simply better? Having said that, I have also seen comments and replies from Nikon shooters and Canon as well, saying that Lightroom is one of the worst raw converters. I've been using Lightroom for many years but since I got a Fujifilm XT3 I have noticed that there is lack of detail and sharpness in my photos. For you Sony shooters, which software do you use that work "best" for Sony files? ![]()
